Melaka has some of the most beautiful streets I have ever seen! Walking along the river you get to see the artistic design behind Melaka. It is a town full of colour and expression, whether a unique combination of colours that give you a picasso esque vibe or a beautiful mural depicting part of Malaysian culture.

I may have mentioned that I studied Islamic history in University and in one of my classes, my professor talked about the migration of Islam to the Malay peninsula and Indonesia. A Visit to the National Mosque, Masjid Negara | Explore Malaysia

I really wanted to visit the Masjid Jemak as it is one of the oldest mosques in Kuala Lumpur and I love history and architecture, but alas it was under construction and only open to worshippers. So I did the next best thing, I went to the National Mosque which is where the King of Malaysia prays on Fridays, I mean how amazing is that!

Merdeka Square, Kuala Lumpur | Explore Malaysia

On my second day in Malaysia I hopped on the metro and headed to Merdeka Square. I had actually been planning on visiting a mosque near there, but unfortunately it was under construction and so I decided to wander about the square. I took the train to Masjid Jamek station, which is also the name of the mosque that precedes Merdeka Square.
